Walk starts from Ribblehead Station.
A 9½ miles (15 km) walk through the site of the navvies’ settlements at Ribblehead led by the Dales Volunteers. We will follow the line of the railway, far beneath us, and then visit Gearstones and Thorns, both important centres for the Drovers of long ago. En route we will have a glimpse of the Roman road from Bainbridge to Ingleton.
This YDNPA level 4 walk includes some steep gradients, stiles and uneven ground. Please wear outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, walking boots recommended.
Please bring a packed lunch.
Dogs not allowed (assistance dogs welcome)
