Throughout the week of the Cheese Festival you will be able to take part in The Hawes Truckle Trail. Collect a clue map from the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes and search for the cheesy answers marked on “truckles” (the name for a round of cheese) hidden around the town.  Collect all the answers to enter a prize draw to win a traditional Yorkshire delight.

The Home Farmer open farm afternoon

The Spence family have been dairy farming at Home Farm since 1953 but have only recently ventured into selling their produce direct to consumers. Earlier this year they began selling farm fresh unhomogenised milk from their milk vending machine, which lives inside a converted horse box. Ingleborough guided mountain walk

A full day walk a part of a small group to climb Ingleborough. At 723 metres above sea level, this is the second highest mountain in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A guided day walk as part of a small group to climb the mountain known as Pen-y-ghent, and then Plover Hill. Starting from Horton-in-Ribblesdale we take a lane, then a track to gradually gain height before ascending steeply to the summit.
