Exhibition. Hostile Environment: The British in Russia 1918-1919

‘World Wide Whispers’ was started following a conversation between Ann Hill and four other international quilters – Paula Rafferty from Ireland, Jeltje van Essen from The Netherlands, Debbi Cagney from USA and Kim Caskey from Canada when they met in Edinburgh. They each chose 12 quilters, one for each month of the year, and asked them to make a quilt from a photograph of a quilt that they would receive from the quilter who made the quilt the month before…

Come and enjoy Nidderdale’s Big Day Out ………. ‘Pateley Show’, as the Nidderdale Show is affectionately known, is a traditional Dales agricultural Show where visitors can browse a wonderful display of the finest livestock, produce and crafts that the Dales have to offer.  Held in the picturesque surrounds of Bewerley Park, Pateley Bridge, it is one of the county’s foremost agricultural shows. It regularly attracts crowds of 15,000 and traditionally marks the end of the agricultural show season.

On this course you can spend two days learning to forge a traditional blacksmith bushcraft knife. It will involve basic blacksmith techniques for one part of the knife and silversmithing techniques for the other. You will learn how to temper, heat treat and sharpen using files.
