Leaping Salmon and the Industrial past of Ribblesdale
A 4 mile (6.4km) walk along the River Ribble to explore the legacy of the industries which depended on the river in the past. We will visit the Craven Limeworks and Langcliffe, a quiet village with a surprisingly violent past. The walk includes a visit to Stainforth Force where, with luck, we will see salmon leaping up the waterfall. A moderate relatively flat walk along riverside paths. There are some stiles on the way.
